Wake Up The Sun

Zach Corliss - Pronounced Dead on the scene to a Massive Comeback

Listen Later

I met Zach when he was doing physical therapy at the gym. We got to talking about why he was there and working with the PT and it hit me that I had heard about his story through someone else awhile back. Several months ago while driving home on I-75 he was struck by a tractor trailer and was dying on the side of the road. By chance the trauma hawk helicopter was en route for another accident several miles ahead of his accident and those involved in the previous accident had passed. He was pronounced dead on the scene but resuscitated, rescued and airlifted to a local hospital. He was in a coma for several weeks, severe brain trauma, bodily injury where they had to put him back together and told he would never walk again.

As the oldest of three, Zach has always been a leader, role model and family man. He looks after his younger siblings as his father passed shortly before his accident. His passion for helping others, hard work and determination gave him the strength to face his hardest challenge yet; to walk and prove to himself and others that he couldn't kept down. The journey has been hard fought with ups and downs, he has given everything he has into starting over and figuring out the next steps to move forward and help others that have experienced something similar. His charity....... ..................... aims to put those injured permanently and striving to regain basic movements in working hand in hand with the community.  If you or anyone else may be struggling with a life changing injury please reach out to Zach and connect. He is a remarkable young man who has no quit in his vocabulary.
