Zach Zinn – Addicts & MA. Martial Artist and Counselor Zach has worked as a Chemical Dependency Counselor for the last three years. Zach has also done volunteer work in a prison Teaching mediation practices to prisoners, many of whom struggle with substance abuse and addiction issues. Also, Zach has been practicing martial arts for thirty years and runs a karate dojo in Olympia Washington.



Nature v. Nurture



Mental health disorders and is evil born or is it hard wired? Humans have a complex set of rules we live by. But if you ascribed the same brutal behavior to an animal you would never look twice. The serial murderer Kemper, presents well.



Meditation With Prisoners


The meditation with low-risk prisoners. They self-select out of boredom because prison is boring. A secular mediation and a Buddhist form. The mild criminal, the drug offender. This leads us to the world of drug addiction. And the process from a physical, social, and biological viewpoint.


Brain and substance abuse and addiction are two different things. The brain disease of addiction is a brain process. They add the linking of negative consequences and why people keep it up. It doesn’t make sense to the rest of us but it makes perfect sense to the addict. The reality of emotional damage and the hard facts of the stress. The addict looks for the mind sift, so they are a good audience.

The Addicted Brain



The addicted brain, let’s break down, in a quick overview. The process of addiction happens over time. It involves three items inside the person and the social setting as well. Hitting the brain’s reward system with dopamine. It will begin to shut down the brain, except the survival systems, and therein lies the bad loop. The result is the creation of another type of person, one you don’t know.



The path of martial arts and how it can make a journey out of life resulting in growth and changing for the better.



The young guys in the boxing gym are an addiction or impulse regulation? 100% or nothing is the call of the day. Zach Zinn – Addicts & MA. Can martial artists come close because of their, “all in,” behavior.
