王先生來了嗎?
他打過電話來,說他正在來這裡的路上。
我們來看一下Is Mr. Wang here yet?和Is Mr. Wang here already?這兩個句子的不同。前面的句子，是指約定的時間過 了，王先生卻還沒到，後面的句子則是指還沒到約定的時 間，他人就已經到了。yet和already的意思幾乎相反。
he called in 就是「他打過電話來」，in是用來強調對方打電 話「進來」的動作(除此之外，前面還介紹過call up， call on 等片語，我們可以順便複習它們的意思和用法)。
on one's way 是表示「在~途中」、「正在做~的時候」的 意思，用法如下:
It began to rain on my way to the office.
(在我到公司的途中，開始下起雨來。)
The "plane was hijacked on its way to Lebanon.
(飛機在飛往黎巴嫩的途中遭到劫持。)
"Come on， Daisy!" "I'm on my way!"
