Many of you drag racer fans may recognize McGee name.... with our guest today we hear about how Motorsports brought his family from Australia to the United States. We follow his journey from jr dragsters, full size drag cars and sprint cars thru to not only racing karts but also building top notch high horsepower motors that some of the top teams in karting used the Big O and how that experience let to much of karting following his and his dad Phil’s midget car team at the famed Chilli Bowl this past year. I heard many good things about today’s guest leading up to the podcast and as you’ll hear in our conversation he definitely lived up to the expectations. In Today’s episode we visit Memphis, TN to visit with Dustin Stagen. Like some of the previous guest, Dustin and I became friends on social media as a result of the podcast and I’ve kept up with his post and racing through the last year. Most of the questions and requests I’ve received through the podcast have been from guys that run higher HP classes, often times more along the lines of what some would call the backyard circuit. When I say backyard I don’t mean any less competitive.... it just happens to be their only way to race due to the lack of tracks in their area. As Dustin and I mention in the podcast.... I want to make sure I don’t get tunnel vision and stick to only the southeast or even just high level guys that race all the time for big money. Our sport is made up of alll kinds of racers and teams and I want the podcast to be able to help everyone in some way. Dustin has raced at all levels with success and we had a great conversation... touching on all sorts of topics. In Today’s episode we visit the southeast to dig into the tedious process of preparing the racing surface for some of the biggest races in the sport. Daytona Dirt, Georgia Karting Complex, Patriot speedway and even the karting event held last year at the famed Charlotte Dirt Track (just to name a few). The track can dictate many things on race day.... both good and bad. A few months ago we visited with a gentleman Who excels at preparing the same track throughout the year...... today we look at the approach from someone who travels to a bunch of different tracks containing very different soil structures and geographical hurdles to prepare tracks for race day. As with past guest who are in the process of mastering their trade in the area of tires, motors and chassis it’s refreshing to speak to someone at the top of their game in any area. Through a few conversations with people who know him I became more intrigued with his approach and process from afar. Being a long time participant in the sport we were able to touch on our sports past, the current state and future of where we hope it goes from here. Welcome back everyone for episode 20 of the za podcast. Our guest today is one of the best drivers in the country and has been for several years now. He’s one of the first people I reached out to when I started this podcast and I’m glad we finally get the chance to hear and share is story. Few drivers, tire guys or engine builders will ever get the opportunity to race karts for a living. A lot of listeners remember the days when the only way to be full time was to build mothers or chassis. As the sport has evolved Into larger pay days and grown in popularity so have the opportunities within the sport. Lil Donkey as he’s known on the southern money circuit has turned doing tires and driving at the highest level into a full time gig. I e watched Him grow as a person and a driver over the past 15 or so years to be near or at the top of the list for long time karters as someone you would want to start a team behind. He’s picked up several career defining wins in a sport where most would be happywinning one. We explore his humble beginnings at Johnston County to being factory pilot for some of the best karting companies and teams in the country and having the coolest tshirt n karting. You might not think he’s the goat.... but he’s definitely the undisputed Donkey in karting. As you’ll hear him elaborate on in this episode... it hasnt always been easy..... but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Chubbs recently won the Jr Pro race at Halloween Havoc at Albermarle Speedway In Elizabeth City, NC. In addition to the winners check he received a custom trophy helmet sponsored by Xplicit Designs and Premier Siding and Scott Hassell. Chubbs drove a great race coming from 10th spot to win and tells us about that race and his career thus far competing at the highest level in karting.

Welcome back everyone for episode 17 of the zero analytics podcast today on the show we visit Smithfield Virginia to talk with Ryan O’Connor. Ryan pilots the mark mode, P&p speed shop ride on the southeast tour, hitting as many big races as possible. Knowing Ryan from a distance through the team I used to travel with I finally got a chance to talk with him at the first annual G-man race earlier this year. I was impressed with his performance on the track and his demeanor off the track. We all knew the names Cash, Mullis, Adams and Connell but who is the next generation to take the sport into the future. Who knows. But I’m definitely rooting for today’s guest. In this episode we visit Harrisburg, NC and chat with a fellow native Marylander. Growing up in Hagerstown, MD he followed in his father's footsteps into the racing world where he grew up driving micros as well as karts built by his father. After moving near Charlotte, NC with his family in his teens he got hired at 17 by Ray Evernham as a tire specialist. The next 15 or so years have been spent pursing his goal to become Nascar crew chief. Off the road now and with karting in his blood...... we explore the rebirth of Hammer Karts. Entering back into the karting world with a fresh set of eyes we find Alex leading the way in testing alternatives to traditional methods in the sport through both tires and the winged outlaw karts gaining popularity across the country. We discuss life as a father, racer and now a business owner.

In this episode we visit the Deep South and explore the journey of a racer from Mena, Arkansas. Dabbling with karting as a young kid and returning several years later to scratch an itch that never left. From designing his own graphics to to making his own custom parts for his IMCA Modified. This driver represents the sport well and we had a great conversation. Enjoy.
