Join myself, SloopGaming, a veteran MMORPG player & host of your favorite show, as we dive into the spectacle of the HELLDIVERS 2 Community versus SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT and ARROWHEAD GAME STUDIOS.
Egregious lack of communication and transparency created an outrage from an active and supportive player base that overnight turned STEAM REVIEWS from positive to negative! Mandatory account linking to PLAYSTATION NETWORK was quickly reversed, however, a black eye remains on both the developer and publisher. Could this drama have been avoided?
We're also discussing yet another round of layoffs and studio shuttering inside the gaming industry from MICROSOFT impacting BETHESDA and ZENIMAX teams from ARKANE AUSTIN, ALPHA DOG STUDIOS, TANGO GAMEWORKS, and ROUNDHOUSEGAMES.
Further, we take a look at a recent interview by BLOOMBERG TECH with SARAH BOND, President of XBOX, Microsoft concerning the Gaming Industry, layoffs and the company's deal with ACTIVISION.

We're talkin GAMEAWARDS 2023, DESTINY 2 SEASON OF THE WISH & BUNGIE NEWS!
This year has been tumultuous to say the least with LAYOFFS 2023 headlining the TECH INDUSTRY; especially, within ONLINE GAMING. More than 7,000 GAME DEVS have been dismissed through November.
This trend has impacted Gamers and Consumers alike quite negatively, where "trust" and even wanting to play certain titles or invest their time or money is waning exponentially - even leading some to believe the GAMING INDUSTRY IS DYING.
Was any of this referenced during the Awards?
Has Destiny 2 turned a corner with season 23?
Will Bungie deliver during the extended season and with TFS in June 2024?
This week's show sheds light on the GAMING INDUSTRY and the choices made by GAMING CORPORATIONS and how we as fans/consumers are dealing with it all - Blown Wishes?!

Join myself, SloopGaming, a veteran Destiny2 & MMORPG player & host of your favorite show, as we welcome Streamer & QA Manager, Greatone718, as well as Streamer & Destiny2 Sherpa, VenomousPanther797 back to the show!
This year has been tumultuous to say the least with LAYOFFS 2023 headlining the TECH INDUSTRY; especially, within ONLINE GAMING. More than 6,100 GAME DEVS have been dismissed through October. Iconic game studio, BUNGIE, is the latest from 80+ Studios in 2023 to have laid off staff - reports claim 8% of employees were fired across multiple disciplines.
This trend has impacted Gamers and Consumers alike quite negatively, where "trust" and even wanting to play certain titles or invest their time or money is waning exponentially - even leading some to believe the GAMING INDUSTRY IS DYING.
Further, THE FINAL SHAPE expansion and MARATHON release have also been delayed to June 2024 and sometime in 2025, respectively, due to recent layoffs and other factors.
This week's show is focused on what has happened at Bungie, and DESTINY 2 specifically, as well as insights into what is occurring throughout the GAMING INDUSTRY and the choices made by GAMING CORPORATIONS.
The TLDR is GREED and today's ZEROHOUR Podcast puts it all into perspective.

The weekend of September 15th will forever go down in the Bungie history books as hosting the GREATEST GLITCH IN A DECADE since Destiny 2 launched in 2014. The Community was polarized as newly discovered weapon crafting glitch allowed for INSANE damage output which trivialized ALL CONTENT.
Instead of disabling crafted weapons or canceling Trails of Osiris on the PvP side, Bungie elected to allow these "funny guns" to be crafted and enjoyed by Guardians and even posted on their socials to go and "have fun".
What ensued was a perverted cartoon of mindless gameplay packed with non-stop lul moments, however, Guardians were tracking triumphs and end game accomplishments where they ordinarily would have had difficulty completing. This has sparked a major debate and if a rollback was warranted, which did not happen btw. Regardless, Destiny 2 remains stained from this gross exploit.
Following the weekend, Destiny 2 servers were also bombarded by DDOS attacks which made logins nearly impossible. Was this related to the Glitch?
VP & I discuss everything that unfolded and more on this NOT TO MISS episode!
