  • 30: Elevated Boxed Cake and Summer Loves
Zing! is thirty, flirty, and thriving! In our 30th episode, Anabel makes a heart-shaped strawberry cake (is that not the cutest shit you've ever heard) from a BOXED mix! She takes you through her fool-proof way to elevate any boxed cake mix, so much so that your friends will think it's homemade. This is absolutely confirmed. Then, she is joined by the bestie, Abby, to chat their current summer loves, including food, drink, media, and even concepts! This episode really has it all, friends!! Of course, they end with entertainment recs of the week.

You're in for a treat today! Anabel makes an extremely simple yet very satisfying vegetarian pasta dish. She is then joined by her friend Kyndal, host of Kyndal's Korner podcast, to talk all things creating! They discuss what podcasters/ general creatives should know when starting out, traumatic childhood events they realized affected them later, early 2010's YouTube inspirations, and how they'll know they've finally made it. Zucchini & chickpea penne with goat cheese and red chili flakes in garlic butter sauce:

                        • 1 large zucchini
                        • 1 can chickpeas, water drained
                        • 1/2 box penne pasta
                        • 1/2- 1 stick good butter
                        • 1/4 tsp or 1/2 clove minced garlic
                        • Goat cheese (topping)
                        • Red chili flakes (optional but so tasty)
                        • Olive oil, salt & pepper for cooking

                          1. Preheat oven to 400F. Bring water to a boil for pasta, making sure to salt it.

                          3. Drain chickpeas and add them to a sheet pan along with the zucc.
                          4. Coat in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss around on sheet to coat.
                          5. Cook in oven for 20~ish min, checking to make sure the chickpeas don't get overdone.
                          6. Add pasta to water and cook 1 minute under the time it says on the box.
                          7. Meanwhile, melt your butter in a saucepan on low heat.
                          8. Once melted, add garlic and cook until light golden brown. Turn off heat as soon as this color is achieved to avoid burning.
                          9. Add cooked pasta, chickpeas, and zucchini to butter sauce. Toss to combine.
                          10. Top with goat cheese, red chili flakes, and cracked black pepper. Enjoy!

                                Air Fryer Chicken Wings:

                                • 1 package raw chicken wings
                                • 1/2 cup corn starch
                                • 1/2 cup flour
                                • 1 tsp paprika
                                • 1 tsp 21 seasoning salute (or multipurpose seasoning)

                                  1. Prepare your chicken wings. Using a sharp knife, cut off the wing tip, then find the point of separation between the drum and flat and cut there to separate them.
                                  2. Mix corn starch, flour, and seasonings.
                                  3. Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
                                  4. Coat each wing thoroughly in the dry mixture and set aside on a plate.
                                  5. Head over to your air fryer! Arrange the wings in a single layer. Be careful not to overcrowd.
                                  6. Air fry at 400F for 23-25 minutes. Times will vary depending on your air fryer, so don't be afraid to check on them/ shake them around about halfway through.
                                  7. Once done, coat in the sauce of your choosing and enjoy some crispy wings!
