Ash Wednesday begins the forty-day (not including Sundays) season of Lent for many Christians. During this moving ancient ceremony, the ashes - from which Ash Wednesday get its name - are placed o the foreheads of the faithful in the sign of the cross.

Unexpected things happen in the world every day. Some are just…intriguing. Others, though, are emotionally taxing. How can we find peace in all things?

This Sunday in worship we’ll honor the lives of those in our church family who passed away last year. During the service, as always, I will read each of their names to the tolling of the church bells. Join me as we thank God for these special people, and all of the special people in our lives.
