Century Church be that of thanklessness- If so, what does Paul mean when he calls for the Church to be thankful and enforces this injunction with the same purpose clause he uses for abstaining from sexual immorality. We should see the work of giving thanks as important as being sexually pure. Two ideas today we do not connect together but Paul does.

Prayer is vital to the Christian life but also and more importantly to the life and advancement of the visible Church. Christians in America live in a sexually saturated and immodest culture. How does a Christian handle that- We are charged by the Apostle Paul to live holy lives, his teaching to the Thessalonians was what helped them then living in sexually charged times to remain pure and persevere and it is the same teaching that will help us persevere in purity now as we live in hyper-sexual times..

This message addresses the comfort-strength- we have in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul uses truths that are as old as creation itself to bring to bear on God's people, so they will live hopeful lives. Paul uses three truths to strengthen the Body of Christ in times of grief- 1- the word of the Lord 2- the victory of Christ and the Saints 3- HIs eternal presence.
