Last time, we saw that the devil is our primary enemy. We learned his tactics, and discovered biblical principles on how to resist him. Today, we begin looking at a second enemy: the world. The world is against us, and especially so since the devil is the prince of this world. But with a proper understanding of all that is in the world, and the right approach to resistance, we can also overcome the assaults of the world!

I don’t think anyone could argue that we are in a constant state of spiritual war! Our trinity of enemies – the world, the flesh, and the devil – are all against us, and out to destroy us. Today we begin to look at the primary enemy of God’s people, which is the devil himself. Praise God he cannot destroy us eternally, but beware: he can destroy us here and now! Join us as we look at his tactics as he wars against the Kingdom of God.

One of the prevalent themes of the Book of Hebrews can be summed up in one word: “better.” Christ is better than the angels, the new covenant is better than the old, etc. In today’s message, the word “better” does not appear, but the sentiment certainly does! Moses, while a commendably faithful prophet, is no comparison to Christ. Join us today as we look at the ways in which Christ is “better” than Moses.

Yesterday we saw that the Kingdom of God is here and near to us; today we turn to the first two rules of this new spiritual Kingdom. In order to fully participate and prosper in the Kingdom of God on earth, we must repent and believe the gospel. This is NOT the message of the world, which declares that we must repent and believe in order to be born again; rather, this is the message of the Kingdom, that God’s regenerated people ought to “buy in” to the Kingdom concept, by repenting daily and placing their trust in the good news of salvation by the sacrifice of Christ alone. Join us as we look at the new rules for the new Kingdom.

When John and Jesus began to preach that the Kingdom of God is “at hand,” the Jews of the day were perplexed! They were expecting some kind of political kingdom, but the Kingdom that Jesus instituted was unlike anything they had ever dreamed about! This Kingdom would be spiritual, and would have very different rules than the world’s ideas about kingdoms.
