Over the last year the Dollyrots managed to get pregnant, have a child and record an album. If you buy into the old adage my songs are like my children then Kelly Ogden from the Dollyrots had 13 kids, one human and 12 songs. The album is great and Kelly was great on the podcast. Zoiks! Online loves the Dollyrots, yeah.

Back in November Jason and I got to chat with Scott Bartlett, guitarist for the band Saving Abel. We did the interview live and in person at Rascal’s Live in Moline Il so forgive the background noise. We talked about the new EP, starting their own label and what it’s like out there is this era of the music industry.

The interview was done just before Jared Weeks left the band to join Hinder, so we don’t address that at all and we’ve been sitting on this interview because of that. Saving Abel played in front of one of the most disappointing audiences I’ve ever been around, but they’re professional attitude was amazing. We ran into Scott after the show and he made light of it and said it was cool. Class act.

“Lust for Love” is the debut film from Anton King. It gets lumped into the Whedonverse films, but this is Anton’s baby through and through. The film got a large part of it’s budget via Kickstarter and stars Fran Kranz, Dichen Lochman, Beau Garrett and Felicia Day. Jason and I sat down with Dichen Lochman and Anton King to talk about the film, the Kickstarter process and the future of Cinema vs On Demand.

I’ve seen “Lust for Love” and I really enjoyed it. It’s a story line you’ve seen several times, but the dialogue flows almost like a song. It’s a new enjoyable take on a story we’ve seen before. It’s a lot of fun to watch so be sure to check it out.

Devour the Day’s “Time and Pressure” was one of the best albums of 2013 and now it’s getting rereleased in 2014 with two new songs, one of which is an acoustic version of their hit “Good Man.” Devour the Day is make up of Blake Allison and Joey “Chicago” Walser who use to be in the band Egypt Central.

“Time and Pressure” is a very intense and authentic sounding record. If you liked Egypt Central then I don’t know how you don’t love Devour the Day. Jason and I sat down with Blake to talk about transitioning form Egypt Central to Devour the Day and touring with In This Moment on the HellPop Tour.

Zoe Sara is a lot of things, performer, writer, musician, Suicide Girl, model but you can sum it all up in one word artist. She’s got a new album out right now called “Fall.” On the latest episode of the “Zoiks! Online Podcast” we talk about the album “Fall” and how Zoe’s already itching to make the next album while at the same time itching to get out there on the road and perform the music from “Fall” at the same time.
