Fear the Walking Dead was really incredible this week. “Sicut Cervus” (S2 E6) was dramatic, lush and entrenched in some bizarre dynamics between the villagers and their unassuming and perhaps self-appointed matriarch. The name of this episode is based on the 42nd Psalm, also known as “Sicut Cervus” (“As a deer”). The parishioners never really stood a chance against killer grandmothers. Madison continues to assert herself and her domain over her family. Nick continues to be a post-apocalyptic golden boy, whereas Chris takes a turn for the worst -- as the world's worst psychopath that is. Seems that conditions are not much improved in Mexico. This episode demonstrates in more ways than one -- whether you're talking about Strand, Travis, Celia or the weaponized priest -- that love makes you do crazy things.
