A Zombie Tale Like No Other
R F Whittaker has quite the different take on the zombie monster. This short stories throws together a bunch of different themes like a haunted house, ghosts, possession, voodoo, a zombie, and a murder mystery; throws it all in a blender; and what comes out is a pretty interesting tale. Add to all that that this tale isn't told in a straight forward manner. This tale is told from different perspectives that overlap each other so the reader learns a little bit more about the story while moving the plot forward at the same time. Very unique theme and very unique style.

A Must Read For Any Zombie Fan!
A refreshing revival of the original zombie legends associated with voodoo. These four, wonderfully written chapters tell a story of murder, loss, despair, spirit realms, and of course voodoo. A must read for any zombie fan!
A story that begs the question: If someone you love dies, is it truly worth the cost of bringing "it" back?
R F Whittaker does it again!! Changing up styles from previous reads in third person, Whittaker uses the first person accounts of the same story, but from three points of view. These stories read quickly like journal entries you don't want to put down for fear of being caught peeking at the secrets within, so it is definitely hard to put down! The reader will really get the feel of the depth of these characters as you read their account of this gruesome tale. With Whittaker's keen eye for detail, his specialty of picture-perfect imagery sets the scene for each character's point of view with brutal accuracy.
Don't expect this to be your average zombie story, however. The pages are filled with poltergeists, necromancy, and more in what would seem like an innocent ghost story from the beginning. The author takes what Hollywood considers a zombie and throws it out the window with the story of a family of three, struck by tragedy, a man caught up in his own horror story whose world collides with his neighbors and the friend he found in one of the family members, and a mother's desperate attempt to get her son back home. Each character's statement paints a picture (sometimes literally) of death, and what it means to be a zombie in their "journal pages."
This is a fast and exciting read, with a new take on the back story of the world-renowned zombie creature, and also including other supernatural forces at work, I highly recommend this to anyone, especially those that don't scare easily, and want something other than your run-of-the-mill gory zombie tale with characters that are still just as intense!
