Frankenboy chiller!

An uneducated mother in a violent housing project has a young son, Russell, in the charity ward. He'll probably die from injuries after being struck by a delivery truck. Then 2 mysterious men come to her door. They say they are doctors and they have an experimental procedure they can use to treat her son. Of course she'll agree, to save her son. Of course things will go hideously wrong. Ron Shaw, a prolific writer and poet and radio personality with a large fan base, often uses nightmares from his sad life growing up poor, as well as his experiences as a cop on Atlanta's toughest streets. This Frankenboy chiller will please.

It grabbed me from the first paragraph and wouldn't let go!

I really enjoyed this story written by Ron Shaw. It has all the elements of a science-fiction/suspense/thriller/horror story. Rebooted is provocative because it makes you really think about the consequences of "playing God" with someone else's life. When it's your time to go, it's your time. Who are we to stop that process? When is modern science and technology interfering too much? Obviously well researched and superbly written, this short story pulled me in from the beginning and held me there until the very end, on the edge of my seat, which is hard to do. A great short read, I recommend it highly. Kudos to Ron Shaw and I look forward to reading much more of his work.
