My review

This is the first Matthew Cash story I've read. It won't be the last. In this short coming of age story, Cash has skillfully hit the reader with the unexpected... if the unexpected is a brick. This story is all about a graduation and family tradition. The reader is in for a short but bumpy ride filled with great imagery and I can't wait to read more by this author.

American Mary

A great horror release from Matthew Cash. A simple story, a coming of age tale. Gerald is taking a crack at teen angst. Cash is consistently publishing unique and enjoyable material.

Twisted family

I recommend this to any fan of modern horror! Gerry and his father have some issues, and I think they're both beyond help! Read for yourself if you dare! Psychological, violent, gore and more-what else could a horror fan want?!? YAY Matthew Cash!

A twisted kind of coming-of-age story for the extreme horror ...

A twisted kind of coming-of-age story for the extreme horror generation!

Just a short story but entertaining and engrossing all the same.

Titel: Dracula II

Autor:: Bram Stoker

Erzähler: Markus Pol

Format: Unabridged

Spieldauer: 7 hrs and 53 mins

Sprache: Deutsch

Veröffentlichungsdatum: 05-18-17

Herausgeber: Audio Media Digital

Kategorien: Fiction, Horror

Not A Nice Little Old Lady

Another winning novella from Craig Saunders, whose writing style I'm very much a fan of. The story grabbed me right from the start and didn't let go until the final page; I hope to read more about Ma Mulrone and her clan.

More good stuff from Saunders!

Unpredictable and bleak is probably the best way to describe this novella from Craig Saunders. The Mulrones are a family with which one does not cross. Unfortunately, when two police officers are involved with the death of a youngster after a car theft, things take a very bloody turn for the worst. It's a great little story that waste no time in dragging you into this dark place. Some scenes were truly shocking. Any book that has the ability to shock is a good one in my eyes. This edition also features the first couple of chapters from Rain. Well written, gritty, dark. Great stuff. 4 stars.

A horror novella from the author of Masters of Blood and Bone, Cold Fire, and Deadlift.

An Excellent Novella From Craig Saunders

I am the first reader to review "Insulation", by Craig Saunders, since August 2015. Hopefully, there have been more sales since them because Craig Saunders is an excellent writer. He packs a lot of story into his novellas. This novella proves that to be true. I enjoyed it very much and read it in one sitting. "Insulation" will keep you turning the pages to find out "what happens next?"

Yvonne, a writer, suffers from horrible migraines. She moves to a new apartment that is quitter then the one she had in London. She meets Simon, her landlord. Simon lives downstairs from Yvonne. He is very strange. Simon is insulating his apartment so he doesn't have to hear "the voices". It also prevents neighbors from hearing what he is doing. Simon uses a very special insulation which Yvonne discovers by accident. She also finds out what he has been doing in his apartment. There is a confrontation between Yvonne and Simon which is a nail bitter.

"Insulation" is fast paced. Saunders does an excellent job moving the story along and keeping you interested. It is well written. The characters of Yvonne and Simon are well developed. The story has many tense moments with plenty of twists and turns. I believe you will like this book.

"INSULATION" NEEDED MORE PADDING!!!

Craig Saunders' latest release, the Kindle novella, INSULATION, wasn't a bad read, but it felt rather incomplete, like it was the skeletal framework of a longer piece. His earlier novella offering, DEADLIFT, was much better, longer, more developed and quite suspenseful. INSULATION just felt...rushed. We never got any exploration of Yvonne's malady, and how it had affected her and her writing throughout her forty-some-odd years; nor did Simon's psychosis get fleshed-out (no pun intended), culminating in his padding of his apartment walls and ceiling with certain unusual and disgusting...things. I just wish that Saunders had taken a bit more time to explain these quirks and psychoses to give the reader a better understanding of why the story went the way it did. I'd recommend this tale, but just barely.

Insulation.

I really enjoyed this short story. It was incredibly creepy and had some very tense moments. My one complaint was that the reveal about the insulation was added at an inconvenient moment. It was awkward with the wording and came too early. Still, it was a good story and one that I would recommend. Yep, I'd read more from this author.

When weighed in the balance a man can only face his demons and pray he is not found wanting. But Sam is not alone.

He never was.

Members Reviews:

A Life Story

The Estate is a love story--scratch that. The Estate is a Life story. Yes, it's a horror story as well but doesn't life bring with it the most terrifying of horrors? Love, loss, failure--just a few of the things that cause fear and that we are all familiar with--are core ingredients in this tale along with the struggle to face these fears and search for redemption. Sam, the lead, is a damaged and flawed man, and this is what makes him stand out, this is what makes him human. His battle with addiction is something I've seen many friends deal with and, on some level, have myself. That struck a chord but even more so was his dealing with having had a stroke. Many of my family members have been victims of strokes and I watched them go through exactly way Sam when through and, in some cases, worse. So, it was easy for me to feel for Sam, to like him, and to want him see beat his demons and fears. There's much more to this story, but I don't want to give too much away. Saunders works the pathos well and his prose flows like a cool, calm river. He takes you by the hand on the first page and leads you on a wild, creepy, horrifying--yet touching--ride. The buildup is good; the climax thrilling. This was my first time reading Saunders. It won't be my last.

Three Stars

Not as expected.
