While alumni teams and high level overseas players are the lifeblood of The Basketball Tournament, a team playing for a cause will always grab fans and attention.
Last season's Autism Army made it all the way to the TBT final, only falling one game short in a loss to Blue Collar U (Buffalo Alumni), gaining fans and publicity for their cause on their journey.
In one of the more interesting conversations we've had in a while, Charge and Haner welcome Delroy James (SF) and Griffin Taylor (GM) of the newly renamed Program for Autism to discuss:
- Last year's incredible run, ending in both heartbreak and joy as Delroy welcomed a new child to his family.
- What the atmosphere was like at the Rucker last TBT.
- Delroy's son's charity org: https://www.jaylensspectrum.org/
- The Program, a new Brooklyn based basketball initiative
- And how this squad can ride their unselfishness and shot making to a TBT title.
Let's Get It.
