  • Beer by BART (front part)
    Beer by BART (front part)
most people don't consider taking public transportation for fun. while everyone thinks of it as a way to commute few people ride to destinations that might have tasty food and interesting things to drink. Gail and Steve made a website that documents where you might go along any of the places BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) stops. while the show has it's roots in local we talk about how you could replicate this in your own city if it hasn't already been done.
    Beers on the show:
Clipper City Pale Ale, Bell's Hop Slam, Brewer's Art Resurrection, Clipper City Brewing Heavy Seas and Gail's homebrew.
Homework: plan a trip to somewhere haven't been using a train, street car, light rail, BART, bus or cable car.

  • Vermonster vs Monster
    Vermonter vs Monster
it has our attention that Monster (a crappy drink nobody should drink) is sueing a small brewery that put the word Monster in the name of their beer. what’s funny is that the Monster in that beer name is used in a really clever way. smashing Vermont and Monster together. get it? see it. clever.

  • Fritz from 98
we're going on a field trip using the time machine. you don't need a signed permission slip. most of you won't need to worry about running into yourself but do leave your technology behind to avoid the off chance of losing it in the past.
October of 1998 in Napa California our destination to hear Fritz Maytag speaking at the Northern California Homebrewers Festival. time travel being what it is lands us in mid sentence skipping the introduction. so it's a bit confusing for a minute. I think its worth hearing as it offers a perspective to what is happening in brewing today.
Fritz talks for 26 minutes. if you get board or can't stand the audio skip ahead. nobody will be offended. sorry about the audio quality. remember it's 1998 and it's pretty good considering the source.
    remember... time travel responsibly.
