Welcome back to the Theme Warriors Podcast where we tackle a different theme every month in the form of four different (and hopefully diverse) movies.

This month we kind of went through a few changes in theme due to the longer than normal break between episodes. The theme morphed a few teams and somewhere in there we sort of made selections that that reflect the chaos of putting this episode together. The idea behind the theme is movies that changed our opinion in some way about the human condition. However, more times than not our movie picks seemed to actually reinforce some opinions and perhaps even strengthen them. Apologies for the delay once again. Hello & welcome back to the Theme Warriors podcast!

It’s great to be back with regularly scheduled shows for the first time in awhile. On this episode we take a look at Actors who go behind the camera, but…….there’s a catch (isn’t there almost always with this show?) They only directed a single movie. Hello & Welcome back (finally!) to the Theme Warriors podcast!

 

It’s been a crazy couple of months that took the cast away from the show but we managed to re-group and put together another fun episode for the listeners.  On this installment we tackle sequels that take a different direction from the original. In some cases it’s a tonal change, while in others it seems to be a completely different kind of movie entirely.  This approach certainly comes with mixed results and strong opinions, while one of these sequels actually surpasses the original for one cast member.  Enough reading, time to get listening as we discuss The Black Bird, Gremlins 2, Highlander 2, & Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday.

Nothing quite gets a rise out the four us as much as a good ol’ resurrection. This month we picked four movies that tackle the subject in very different ways.  And out of body switch-a-roo in Goodbye Charle, a returning soldier to broken family in Deathdream aka Dead of Night, A mad man experimenting with the living….and the dead in Dead & Buried, and a couple of aging hollywood rivals look to keep their edge in Death Becomes Her. Hello everyone and welcome back.  “Back?” you say….why yes, yes indeed. You see, Theme Warriors is something old that has become something new (and improved). The “Not-So-Evil” sidecast was a project I was extremely proud of, but the title was never meant to be permanent. Turns out all it took for a proper name-change was a 6 month hiatus, who’da thunk it right?  

 

In our big return episode we uh, well…..hmmmm. Oh wait, it’s all slowly coming back to me now. Yes…..we discuss four movies dealing with “Amnesia” in different forms.
