Lamentations chapter 3, verse 22 and 23, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.“

In the well-known hymn, “Great is thy Faithfulness”, I find that one of the most inspiring lines holds the words, “morning by morning new mercies I see.” Aren’t you thankful for that? It tells us that, failure the previous day is met by mercy the next morning. It makes every day! This is the day that the Lord has made. Don’t let yesterday’s mistakes define your day today.

You’re listening to me as you’re riding to work, or you’re on the subway, or maybe just reading this before you leave your house. I’m telling you, there is new mercy for you this morning.

Remember, it’s time to pray!

Psalms 42 verses 7 and 8 the scripture says, “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me. The Lord will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me-a prayer to the God of my life.“

You and I are now living in a time when the deep need of this nation is crying out for the deep faith and commitment from those of us, who know the way to freedom in Jesus Christ. Draw down deep, my friend, and you will find a resource of God’s life within you, that you may not have known was there.

If Christ is indeed within you; you are the possessor of His heart, you have His victory, resident inside of your life, and you have a resource of faith that you may not have yet fully drawn from.

Today I would like you to join with me and pray with Teresa from San Leandro, California for her grandson, here’s what it says, “Please pray for my 20-year-old grandson. As of today he has nowhere to live. He has a job but no car so I drive him. He’s desperate.”

First of all Teresa, I’d like to thank God for you, for being the great grandma that you are, and God will answer your prayer. Lord, we lift up Teresa’s grandson, God we ask you, Lord Jesus Christ, to give him a job, give him direction, give him a heart for You and for Your kingdom. Take away the desperation and show him the hope that belongs to him through a living relationship with You as the Son of God.

Malachi chapter 4, beginning at verse 5, “Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.“

There is no substitute for the voice of a father. God made it that way. A father’s voice has the power to love and guide, while a child’s heart longs; though sometimes with seeming reluctance, to hear the voice of the father. This relationship is so powerful that is has the power to push back the godlessness of the last days of this world. It starts with the heart. Ask God for a heart for children, both your children, and other children that God has brought into your path.

Fathers, it’s time to pray!

The book 2 Corinthians chapters 4 verse 11 the apostle Paul says these words, “For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.“

You know it’s always been my experience that those of us, who want to live lives that will glorify God, are always brought to places where we can’t go forward, and we’re asked to do things that we can’t humanly do. Often, it has caused me to cry out, “Jesus! You have to do this in me, and through me.” And wonderfully, I can tell you, He does! 

It’s called a testimony of God’s power and grace inside of each of us.  He gives to us a victorious life so that we can stand before the population and say, “I just have to tell you what God has done for me.”

It’s time to pray.

2nd Corinthians, chapter 2, beginning at verse 14, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ. And through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.“

Most New Yorkers begin our day in traffic, on the bus or in the train. All around us windows are up, ear phones are in and things are being read. What possible influence for good can those of us who know God possibly have? How can we help so many who just seemingly want to be left alone? Well the answer is easy, God is with us. We can pray that the sweetness of His presence be felt by others as we sit near them or pass by. God answers prayer.

The book 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verses 1 and 2, Paul says these words, “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.“

It is true, that truth living in the human heart cannot be hidden. Jesus told us we would know the truth and the truth will make us free. This generation may no longer read a Bible, but my friend, they will read the truth of God in you. Ask God now for the power to love truth and to walk in it. You’ll be amazed, soon, at the number of people who are going to ask you for a reason for the hope that you still have.

Today I’d like you to join me in praying with Patricia from the Bronx in New York for her husband. Here is what she says, “pray for my husband to follow Christ like he used to, and to walk away from religion, to come to complete surrender and to the work of the Lord again.”

Lord Jesus Christ, we join with Patricia this day and we lift up her husband to you. God Almighty we ask you to touch this man’s heart. Show him the futility of religion and the great blessing of walking in the power and strength of that inward life of Jesus Christ. We ask you to take the scales off of his eyes, and we ask it in Jesus name.

Philippians chapter 2, beginning at verse 4, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.“

Jesus Christ lived in the highest possible place; in spite of this, He came down to where we are because He cared about us and saw our need. As His child today, ask for the eyes to see someone who is down. Ask for the heart to care enough to serve them with words and actions that will show the love of God, and as Christ did for you and I, make them glad. Above all, ask for the mind of Christ.

In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 says these words, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.“

You know sometimes we can get so discouraged that prayer just seems to be just one more impossible thing to do. You and I can begin to feel as Paul once did with fears without and fightings within. God, however, has given us all that we need to be ambassadors of His mercy. Not by our record of successes, but the power of His life and love, inside of us. Therefore; we can come boldly to the throne of grace, help is there both for you and I and for others.
