2 Samuel chapter 22 beginning at verse 1, “Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said: ‘The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.’“

King David had indeed just passed through the valley of the shadow of death. Though in the natural overwhelmed, God had opened a supernatural door of victory and deliverance before him; so too, it will be with you. Don’t give up in your time of trial. David’s song will very, very soon be yours; not just for a moment, but forever. This is the promise of God to you.

It’s time to pray!

The book of Proverbs chapter 20 verse 20 says these words, “Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in deep darkness.“

Now the principle here is very simple. God’s Word declares that when men, women, and children begin to defy the structure of the family as God ordained the family to be; those people and that nation become confused, wondering in the dark without any way to find light and direction in their time of confusion.

In the last chapter of the Old Testament, God says that He will counter this darkness by calling the fathers back to the children, and the children back to their fathers. Oh, if we could just hear the heart of God in this generation, how much He wants to bring restoration to our homes and our nation.

For you and I as believers of Christ, it’s time to pray!

Every Tuesday night at 7PM we have our Worldwide Prayer Meeting, and we receive many requests for prayer. Today, I am asking you to join with me in praying for an anonymous individual from here in the United States, and here’s the prayer request, “for my family and I never to be in financial trouble ever again. May Jesus bless us that we will have plenty for us and to help others for Jesus.”

Let me tell you first, that you have the right heart for this prayer request; too many people pray for the blessing of God but they horde it to themselves. So Father we lift up this family, and we ask you God to meet the need in their life, and make them not just generous, but exceedingly generous. Give them the eyes and the heart to see the needs in people all around them, throughout every place they travel. Thank you for answering this prayer today, in Jesus name.

Jeremiah chapter 20, verses 10 and 11, “For I heard many mocking: ‘Fear on every side!’ ‘Report,’ they say, ‘and we will report it!’ All my acquaintances watched for my stumbling, saying, ‘Perhaps he can be induced; Then we will prevail against him, And we will take our revenge on him.’ But the LORD is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore, my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.“

We all agree that sometimes the circumstances of life can be overwhelming. The negative voices around us seem to get the upper hand and we can begin to see our own defeat just around the corner. Jeremiah found, and history shows, that neither he, nor you, will ever be defeated. In fact, God will assign your enemies the eternal hall of shame.

The book of Proverbs chapter 20 verse 17 says these words, “Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.“

Oh, how as we as a nation have deceived ourselves in our own sweet but faulty reasoning. We chartered our own course; counseling ourselves, that our disregard of history was somehow just. Our defiance of God’s Word was intelligent and reasoned, and our embrace of evil was a good thing.

Now, just as scripture says, “our speech is filled with confusion.” God once more; is searching for people who know how to speak right. People who are willing to go into that private place of prayer, and bring back to God His promises that He makes towards those whose hearts are right towards Him.

It is time, for you and I to pray!

Jeremiah chapter 20, verses 7 and 9, “Oh Lord, You induced me, and I was persuaded; You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. I am in derision daily; Everyone mocks me. Then I said, ‘I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.’ But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.“

I want you to know today that the trial that you are going through is not unique to you; others have had to go through it before. Jeremiah thought that God had deceived him, when in reality, it was Jeremiah who had deceived himself. Simply put, he thought that his own vision for his future was the same as God’s, it wasn’t. In spite of his own misunderstanding, the actual call of God was still strong upon him. Get up today and go on.

The book Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 47, “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything; therefore, you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you. The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly or show favor to the young.“

True to form, history is repeating itself. Nations mock the name of God, deny His goodness, deny His warnings, and finally sit in paralysis as their enemies burst through the gate. When nations sit in the brink of a collapse of their own making, there is still one thing that can win the day. God still answers prayer.

It is time, for you and I to pray!

And today I am asking you to join with me to pray for a couple here, an anonymous couple in the United States, whose son needs a good job. They say he’s graduating this year, and going to college in September and they believe that God is able. We believe with you today that God is able. I’m telling you, the Bible says that “If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.“

So, we lift this young man up to you, Lord God, and we ask that you give him a good job. Lead him, guide him, above all else Lord, give him a heart to live for You, and to serve You and to stand for You all the days of his life. Don’t let him prosper and turn away from you. Thank you Lord for answering our prayer.

This is Carter Conlon. Psalm 104, beginning at verse 14, “He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth, and wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart.“

This Psalm tells you and I that the Lord provides sustenance for everything that He has created. Gladness is part of the abundant life that Jesus promised to give us. Another part is an exterior confidence that testifies to the inward presence of a never-failing God. And lastly, He gives provision through every promise to us to do in us what He alone is able to perform. Don’t live today beneath what God desires for you and is able to give you. Let Him become your all and all today.

The book of Daniel 5:23, “And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which did not see or hear or know, and the God who holds your breath in his hand and owns all of your ways, you have not glorified.“

These are the fearful words spoken to a self-indulgent people who were partying with the holy things of God unaware that while they were doing so that the enemy had come in through the front gate. Evil had become good to the point that God could no longer tolerate it. Who knows what would have happened if they had humbled themselves and prayed. They didn’t, but we still can.
