The Church has always been a powerful institution that displays the manifolds works of God.

Just as how God the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit are one, so the church is ought to be.

However, the desired Unity to fill the church has been faced with obstacles. Reverend explained to us that Offenses, reluctant to receive correction, selfishness and pride can become a hindrance to unity in the church if it's not dealt with. Be bless

Looking at the word Unity" reveals a very important aspect of God's love for His church. We learnt that unity is necessary for the power of God to flow in our churches. God chose the Church among many things to be a shield against principalities, spiritual wickedness, the power of darkness etc. Hence, the power of Unity is a key to dismantle any plots of division that the enemy may throw at the church. Reverend shared with us that as we grow up physically into maturity we must also grow up spiritually. Can any of us desire to remain at a child's level of intellect as we mature? Just like how corporate world look to employ workers for their cooperations, so is God also looking forward to employ laborers for the Kingdom.

God expects the lay people in the church also to take active role in the ministry to minimize the burden on full time pastors.( Prayer, visitation, counseling, interaction) for we have been saved and called unto good works.

We can all agree that at our various work places we do encounter challenges and struggles. In the same way, lay pastors also do encounter many struggles and challenges when doing the work of the ministry. Some of these struggles are,

The concept of full time ministry.

Lay pastors struggles with independence.

Reverend emphasized on the fact that challenges and struggles are bound to happen and when they do, we must overcome.

In Colossians 4:17, Paul instructed Archippus to take the ministry seriously which God had given him that he may fulfill it.

* Having got God-given talents/ abilities, God expect us to use these gifts fully to the benefit of the ministry to help build His church.

* God expect us to be more than just born again but rather to become lay people such as responsible shepherds, evangelists, pastors etc.

Numbers 11:16-17, to share the burden, God instructed Moses to choose seventy men to help him do the work. A burden can be expressed as a difficulty, a load, a weight, a concern, a charge, affliction etc.

Just like any other institution, work is evenly distributed to help build a healthy and a strong organization. In the same way the church needs laymen and volunteers to partake in the work in order to lessened the burden on a leader or on individual workers.
