That's the stodgy official bio. So here's the unofficial... I grew up in Rhode Island, home of the best pizza in the nation, sorry New York (and Chicago). I now live just outside of NYC in Dirty JerZ. I've worked with the band Satanicide. I love animals and have rescued quite a few. I am addicted to Game of Thrones and Walking Dead, like just about everyone else. I wanted to be a playwright, then I started doing theater PR and chickened out. When I first moved to NY, I sent Tom Fontana a fan letter when Oz was the shit on HBO. His assistant followed up and asked me to send some of my plays for writer's assistant consideration. I was so nervous that my completed plays weren't good enough that I wrote a horrible one-act that I don't remember anything about except that it featured really violent spirits. Oz never called back. Also, I am a Libra.

Colet Abedi has been an entertainment industry executive for over ten years. In addition to working on many television programs for NBC, ABC, FOX, and most cable networks, she is best known for her work as head writer for the telenovela serials American Heiress and Fashion House, the latter of which starred Bo Derek and Morgan Fairchild, on the FOX-owned MyNetworkTV.

I'm a southerner through and through but also love my northern neighbors!  I have lived a multi-geographical life, having resided in Alabama, Texas, Minnesota, California, Tennessee (where I now live) and of course Mississippi, where I was born.  All places have provided me with colorful memories, most of which I manage, one way or another, to incorporate into my novels.

I started writing when I learned cursive and have not stopped since; at first penning poems and then songs before turning my attention to writing novels.  Don't let my slow, southern drawl or laid back manner fool you!  I pride myself on writing with gutsy, realistic authority and creating strong characters I call 'page turners' whose memorable personalities will draw you into their lives in such a way you are anxious to discover what makes them tick, and then, once hooked, you want to avidly follow their exciting and often sensually titillating exploits.

I am also a songwriter, which is why I originally moved to Tennessee, and have had a modicum of success in that I have co-written songs recorded by Loretta Lynn, Tom Jones, Barbara Mandrell, Barbi Benton, Stella Parton, Faron Young, The Soulshakers, The Poppies, Mason-Dixon, Bandana, The Wright Brothers and also co-wrote the theme song for the Italian movie, "Summer Affair".   And I have had the pleasure of co-writing with some of the best creative minds in the music business - Kent Blazy, Billy Dean, Ray Stephenson, Bucky Barrett, Toni Dae, Jon Conley (fantastic guitarist with Kenny Chesney's band) and the brilliant and multi-talented Bruce Witkin of Los Angeles, who was the founding member of The Kydz, the band Johnny Depp later joined (before he became a movie star) and today they are still making music together.  Do I consider myself blessed to have been and still be associated with such greats?  Indeed I do!

I come by romance honestly, having spent several years writing adult romance and entering romance contests through Romance Writers of America–including finaling twice in the prestigious Golden Heart contest and winning once. But despite these and other contest wins, my first published novel came not in adult romance, but as a writer of YA historical fiction (you can read all about my Elizabethan spy girls stories, the Maids of Honor, here.)

Still, despite my love of Elizabethan spies, I could never quite give up those super Alpha contemporary romance heroes. So, in the summer of 2013, I decided to see if perhaps I might still have a romance or two up my sleeve.

I wrote a tale about a girl whose biggest high-school and college crush–a rock star–suddenly becomes her biggest client, only now she has to be professional and not betray the fact that she’s completely in love with the guy. It was a fun, sexy, romantic fantasy, and I suggested the idea to my agent… who asked what other ideas I had in addition to this story. Shortly after, the Rule Breakers series was born.

To separate these books from my historical work, I adopted the name Jennifer Chance. I am now pursuing my dreams (pretty much round the clock as it turns out) and am THRILLED to be able to have four e-books coming out in 2014 and early 2015, all with Random House LoveSwept’s New Adult romance line.

As to what will happen from here, who knows? But as long as there is a story to be written and an HEA to be had, I’ll be the one over in the corner, tapping away on my keyboard.

I’m happily married to the love of my life (don’t gag) and raising three beautiful children in the gorgeous state of Virginia. We live just outside Washington, D.C., and every day I wake up to find myself stuck in traffic trying to get there.

The horrid commute gives me plenty of time to zone out and think about my characters in full, brilliant details (I’m a safe driver; don’t worry). Stories give me a way to forget about the sometimes smelly strangers sitting next to me on the fifty mile trek into town (I pick up hitchhikers every day. True story. When I’m not working, commuting, or chasing after my three children (four if you count the man), you can usually find me outside talking to my chickens like they’re the cutest things in the world (they are), or training my amazing dogs how to herd said chickens (which they love), or curled up on the sofa with a good book (why can’t that be 100% of the time?).

I hope you love my stories (or just like them a little; that would be okay, too). And I hope that one day you find your passion, because there’s nothing in life better than doing what you love while surrounded by people you love.

Angela Castle

I have to say Angela is one of my favorite authors, but I hate her! I hate her because she writes more books in a week than I could in months--yes, it's an exaggeration, but this writer is prolific.

For a while now, I have been her editor, both for a publisher and also freelance, so I may be a little biased. However, it's hard not to be enamored by her work, especially if you like science fiction romance. I started reading SciFi as a kid and I have a collection of magazines and paperbacks. I'm also a romance author, melding these two genres makes for delicious stories.

I do like that her female heroines are not perfect, slim, idealized women; they are flawed and physically resemble most of the women in real life. This, I believe, allows her readers to easily see themselves in the main character. The male protagonists are extremely tall, well built, handsome...in other words, a wonderful, six-packed, alpha male.

All of her work shows a strong arc for the main characters, which for women is usually coming to terms with who they are emotionally and physically. By the end of the book, the heroine has become strong and secure within her on skin.
