030: How To Avoid The Holiday Overeating Cycle

Yes it's true that this time of year can be super tricky because it has the tendency to spin women out of control (or at least feel like you are out of control). If you have tendencies to be “on a wagon” or “off a wagon” or any of those black/white, all-or-nothing ways of living around food and your health, then YES, this has the potential to be a really triggering time of year.

This is also where a lot of experts and influencers will be giving you tips and tricks to “maintain your willpower” or to white knuckle your way through cravings and temptations, but I don't believe I would be serving you if I gave you that short-term mindset.

The last thing you need right now is a how-to guide or step-by-step list of how to put band-aids on the problem, because I've said this before and I'm saying it again: overeating and feeling out of control of food are a SYMPTOM of restriction and the ‘Diet Mentality’. As in, the dieting and obsessing over food and labeling foods as “good or bad” “right or wrong”... I believe that THAT is what’s causing you to overeat...or eat more than you want to...or feel out of control of food. So if you’re interested in getting to the bottom of your struggles while actually being able to ENJOY your holiday season without all that obsession, this episode is for you!
