Mira is a singer/song-writer from Lund, Sweden. She sat down with If to talk about what tools artists need to have in their arsenal in 2021.

Finding your artistic voice has to be the hardest task for up and coming artists. In content creation ; knowing what you stand for can help to narrow down what you want to say and what media to use to reach your desired audience.

We sat down with Mat Hieyes , a Malmö based Swedish rapper who makes his music predominantly in Swedish. The objective was to find out what he thought of the Swedish rap scene; if it has the capacity for international success.

On today’s segment, we are going to explore fashion as a branding tool for creators.

Fashion has a tendency to intersect with human emotions; hence its very subjective nature. It’s never a one size fits all when it comes to style on account of personality, seasonal changes, availability of resources and so on.

Branding is one of the keys to success in whatever genre of content creation one is in.

How you present yourself has to be conceivable in the context of your brand because it helps to create confidence and trust.

Perception is key. A well curated image is important as it shapes people’s perception of you, and by extension, your creations.

It is therefore paramount for creators to pay close attention to this element if the idea is to stick out from the competition and attract potential fans.

Lalit is a 25 year old entrepreneur based in Helsingborg “Sweden”.

He is the owner of two restaurants that make poke bowls; a nutritious Hawaiian specialty, much like sushi from an ingredient perspective. It is delicious.

The Pillay family is originally from India and has been in Sweden for the last 15 years.

Lalit lost his father in India. The death in of his father put a lot of pressure on him. For example: In Indian culture, the father is the head of the household, when he passes on or becomes incapacitated in any way; the eldest male in the family is expected to assume that responsibility.

As burdening as this was to this a young adult, it taught him very pertinent lessons and instilled values that came in handy in his adult life, such as discipline and responsibility.

The obvious adversities of settling in a new country did very little to impede this young man’s ( Lalit) ambition and hunger for success.

He integrated into the Swedish society expeditiously, which opened up a lot of new doors for him.

The Swedish system puts a lot of emphasis on integration and conformity; the more in tune one is with the system, the easier it becomes for someone to thrive in business or otherwise.

His resilience, industriousness and hard work put him on a fast pathway to the success that he is enjoying now.

Bonke Innocent is professional football player. Currently, he plays for a football club at the helm of Swedish football known as Malmö FF. Even as a kid, the humble star knew what his destiny was. He understood who he wanted to be and what was required of him to get to his dream of playing football at a professional level. It looks like things turned out alright for the 25 year old.

Malmö is a vibrant city blessed with immense talent. The city is home to reputable names like Lazee, LE SINNER, Ozzy and Guleed to name a few.

These are guys that have managed to get their names out in the industry despite the city not having reliable platforms to launch artists.

In today’s segment we are going to get to know two producers who have made critical contributions to the music scene in the past few years, namely, Duni Beats and Oliver Lidholm.

Duni Beats is producer from Nigeria, presently residing in Malmö. He is a trained musician, with drums as his instrument of choice.

His passion for music stretches out of the studio into the acoustic realm as he is the lead drummer in both his band and his church choir.

The level of commitment and diligence to his craft cuts through in his art which is the hallmark of a great musician.

Oliver Lidholm is a producer, with a sound so distinct, one could pick it out of a thousand closely connected ones. the swede is a wizard on the keyboard, you name it, he plays it, that is how good the kid is.

Despite the fact that he puts more effort on pop music; his talents stretch out way beyond the genre. He has shown his versatility through contributions on projects not very synonymous to his forte, an ep, Kintsugi by Shavo Blak and tracks like ‘I said’ and ’10 shots’ from Yung Swede’s catalogue, are prime examples of this.

Eddie is one of the fitness coaches affiliated with G.o.a.t Sports, a new fitness power house located in Malmö, Sweden. 

They take a wholistic approach to training which involves promoting fitness of the mind just as much as the body.

We got the honour of interviewing one of Skåne’s finest female music talents going by Elemy. Music for the 18 year old started off as a hobby, which quickly transitioned into a dream when she started high school. Zara Larsson played an instrumental role in igniting the artist in her she explains. The creator of hit single ‘Simple Love’ found her to be relatable and felt like she was part of her journey into becoming the super star she now is. Like most artists though, she found her voice when she started writing her own music. Enjoy!
