We have been advised to wear masks whenever we are out in public, and wearing a mask kind of forces us to look each other in the eye. We might not realize it, but when we look someone in the eye, we acknowledge their humanity, their personhood, and the Image of God within them. In Genesis, we read that God created humanity in God's image. It's a detail that applies to each and every unique, imperfect individual, and it makes each and every one of us worthy of a closer look.
