Once the Seljuks had taken over the last vestiges of the Abbasid Caliphate, they came into direct contact with the Fatimid Caliphate and the Roman Empire. Despite being outnumbered, the Seljuks proved themselves to be masters in the art of war and conquest. Within a few decades Seljuks had conquered the HolyLand, and most of Anatolia... suddenly taking their place on the world stage.
