Linas Phillips is a director, actor, writer, screenplay doula and a two-time Sundance alum.
His first film, WALKING TO WERNER landed him in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 NEW FACES. He’s also received the Genius award in film from Seattle’s newspaper The Stranger and premiered his first narrative film BASS ACKWARDS at the Sundance Film Festival. He also premiered his film RAINBOW TIME, produced by the Duplass Brothers, at the SXSW Film Festival. He recently wrote and directed a short form episodic show, also produced by the Duplass Brothers, entitled THE RIDE. As an actor he has appeared in TWIN PEAKS, EASTBOUND and DOWN, TOGETHERNESS and MANSON FAMILY VACATION.
As screenplay doula, he teaches a character-based approach to screenwriting by applying techniques drawn from the work of Eckhart Tolle and other notable spiritual teachers.
In this podcast we chat about confidence vs vulnerability vs arrogance, good vs bad, judgement, his screen writing approach, breakups, courage, doubts, shame, self-awareness and working on yourself, helping others, internal narratives and passion.
