#095 - Black Midi “Cavalcade” Dinosaur Jr | FestQuest | “Tag the Track” 4: Music of 1995

Listen Later

Nick has two albums to present this week. The first has been on his radar for a while and it did not disappoint his expectations! Black Midi “Cavalcade” was just released and it’s worth a listen if you’re into 80’s (and up) King Crimson or Bowie’s “Blackstar”. In other news, “Sweep It Into Space” by Dinosaur Jr. has been received very well by the critics & Nick very much disagrees with their assessment.

Songs:

Black Midi - “Chondromalacia Patella”

Re:rec - “Guys Like Girls That Look Like Bears”

Black Midi - “Ascending Forth”

Dinosaur Jr. - “I Ran Away”

Greg was inspired by all the big festivals popping back up this summer & he’s created a new segment called “FestQuest”. It’s kind of a choose-your-own-festival adventure. This week we’re creating our most enticing festival, a festival we would have to go to if it were announced.

Jaystock, a three day outdoor festival featuring The Rolling Stones, Radiohead & Tedeschi Trucks Band, will be coming to Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego next May; and Nickapalooza, a four day outdoor festival featuring Black Midi, Black Pumas & Radiohead, will be in Reykjavik Iceland this July. Neither are real, both sound like a lot of fun.
Song: Charles Mingus Sextet - “So Long Eric”

For our ninety-fifth episode, Jay brings us the music of 1995, with a twist. We cover the music news from the year and then, right when we’re about to discuss the music, Jay surprises everyone with a “Tag the Track”: Music of 1995 Edition show. It was a fantastic way to listen back to the songs from that year. We hope you enjoy!
Song: Phish - “You Enjoy Myself”
