In this episode, we discuss the future of roller derby and the big questions that are always being asked. Should roller derby be an Olympic sport? Will roller derby become a professional sport? Will there be a future where I tell someone I play roller derby and they DON'T ask if I elbow people? What's with the pay gap for women's sports and how is the pandemic affecting this? And the big one -- what does the return to play plan look like and when can we start playing roller derby again?

Erica Vanstone (Double H) is the Executive Director of the WFTDA. Erica previously acted as the organization’s Chief Media Officer, where she developed the mission-forward broadcast program, WFTDA.tv. After working in the film and television industries for more than a decade, Erica began a career in nonprofit management and sports. She has acted as an announcer for the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, the Arena Football League, and more. Erica is dedicated to expanding perspectives of inclusion around women’s sports and is shaping the WFTDA vision for transformation as it continues its mission to improve and grow the sport of roller derby and its service to the derby community.
