  • Gaining Respect In EMS Through A College Degree?
Some in EMS feel that having a college degree will fix so many of the problems we face as a profession. Having that formal education is key, but there is so much more that lends to getting the respect of our healthcare peers.
See what I mean in this weeks podcast and why “EMS self education” is what really leads to success.

  • When Being Social Becomes Your Agenda
This episode of the podcast Jim, Josh and Dave talk about social media. Specifically how popular EMS educators, magazine contributors and leaders post political and left or right leaning discussions on social media.
Do these postings reflect the opinions of the magazines and websites they represent? Should they keep their opinions more in the middle and not allow their personal opinions to bleed together with social media and the organizations they are on?

Many EMS providers get fired or suspended for their private social media comments. Then EMS magazines and websites comment and report on these firings. Doesn’t the same standard hold true?
Take a listen to this passionate episode and leave your thoughts below. Be sure to share and Like on your favorite social media platform.

  • Ultrasound In EMS & ED Docs On Patrol?
I’m posting this first quick podcast to hopefully begin a new series. Sort of a supplement to the longer shows and my quick takes and tips in EMS. Not sure what to call it… car cast, EMS daily’s or just a Jim Rant.
Take a listen and let me know what you think about the show, topics and suggest a title for me.
If your agency ever strikes it rich and begins using ultrasound how will you know where and what to look for? Knowing A&P is a great start and IMO (humble yet accurate) vital “know how” in EMS, ultrasound or not.

  • Over 270,000 Listens | A Ten Year History
This episode of the podcast has Jim and Josh looking back at the show. While prepping for this episode I looked back at the stats and tallied up over 270,000 listens to the show over the past 11 years. That a lot.
We talked about Josh and WANTYNU and how a once small idea began so much bigger. How Jim and Josh met and have been on a journey every since even before the podcast itself.
This was a nice fun and relaxed show. Take a listen and I hope if you have a dream beyond EMS it gives you the knowledge that it can be done.

  • You Can’t Bill For EMS Experience
This weeks podcast is a discussion on EMS organizations and personnel leaving for other jobs like Fire or Law Enforcement. What do agencies do to try and retain these experienced providers? During the show Dave commented that “You can’t bill for experience”.
Is the bottom line how agencies bill? Does the experience their providers bring to the community not count for anything?
Take a listen and be sure to leave your comments, Like and Share.
