With a focus on engaging men and boys as allies in promoting gender equality and healthy masculinities, he has provided technical assistance and expert guidance to diverse organizations, institutions, governments, UN agencies, and industries around the globe.

6. Insights from White Ribbon’s recent research: White Ribbon recently engaged in discussions with survivors on how male allies can be engaged in supporting them. They spoke to 36 intimate partner violence survivors across a number of discussion groups and in collaboration with a survivor-centred community partner.

Caledon OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart was a well liked member of the OPP and OPPA until his tragic off duty death in 2006. Greg was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle in Milton, Ontario and died in hospital the same day. Retired OPP Sergeant John Flesher's life suddenly changed in June, 2024 when he was struck from behind by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle. John was left with life altering injuries. John joins the 10-5 Podcast to discuss his journey of reslience and recovery, and stress the need to have accidental death and dismemberment insurance, a power of attorney for personal care and property, and a will.

Retired Sudbury Detective Sergeant Jordan Buchanan joins 10-5 The Official Podcast of the OPP Association to speak about his service with Sudbury Police and his secondment to OPP GHQ working with the early start up of the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System, known as the ViCLAS, in the 1990's. He also touches on his experience as a Forensic Polygraph Examiner, and his newly released fictional novel "Past Ghosts Echoed" that is based on real cases and policing in Sudbury. Some of the themes of the cases in the book relate to an unsolved line of duty death of a police officer, using DNA to solve a cold case and a biker gang investigation. OPP Provincial Constable Jesse Nobleman and Charlene Randall from the Peel Children's Aid Society (Peel CAS) are guests on Episode 141 of 10-5 The Official Podcast of the OPP Association.  

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)'s Caledon detachment and Peel Children’s Aid Society are proud to present a free ball hockey program in partnership with House of Hockey, a Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) Foundation community program.  

This 5-week program is open to Caledon residents, ages 8-15, and runs Thursdays at 5:30 to 7:30 pm between July 31 – August 28, 2025.

All necessary equipment will be provided, absolutely free, and participants of all skill levels are welcome. Learn about the fundamentals of ball hockey from experienced coaches, including some with OHL, PWHL and international hockey experience, with other key life skills mixed in.  

The program is hosted at the Caledon OPP Detachment at 15924 Innis Lake Road, Caledon East, ON L7C 2Z1.  

Free parking and refreshments will be available on site.  

This is the third year running that Peel CAS has been named a site for MLSE Foundation’s House of Hockey League. To date thexPeel CAC has run hockey programs specifically for youth involved with their agency. This is the first time the program is being offered  to all youth in the Caledon community, in partnership with OPP.

Each September  a large gathering of OPP members, veterans and friends witness the dedication ceremony of the newest donated memory stones for that year.

Each day the Pathway of Memories and Milestones is witness to visitors and members making time to reflect on the messages and names inscribed on the stones.

The inscriptions on the memory and milestone stones donated by members, friends and colleagues, reflect expressions of pride, friendships, love and careers… creating lasting memories.

The funds raised are used to provide funding for our support of youth in need across the province.

The site will accommodate more memory and milestone stones for many years to come and we continue to accept donations until June 30, 2025 for new Memory and Milestone Stones that will be installed on the site in the spring of 2025, and inducted at the ceremony at the ceremony on September 8th, 2025.

Ontario Provincial Police Association Director and former OPPA President Rob Jamieson officially retires on May 30th, 2025 from the OPP and the OPP Association.

Congratulations from all of us at the OPP Association. We wish Rob and his family all the best in retirement. We are grateful to Rob for his dedicated service to the community and to the membership of the OPPA.

All are invited to attend the 2nd Annual 2025 Ontario Police Suicide Memorial (OPSM) at 11a.m. ET, Sunday June 22, 2025 on Queen's Park Crescent, Toronto, to show support for all Ontario police members who have died "Because of the Line of Duty".

The relentless exposure to on-the-job trauma can significantly impact the mental health of police members.

Establishing a distinct memorial not only dignifies their service but also prompts stakeholders to advocate for comprehensive policies addressing the mental well-being of police members and their families.
