Ashbey Beasley is a survivor of the Highland Park mass shooting and a gun violence prevention advocate focused on federal and state gun safety legislation. She is the founder of Hometown Advocacy and Report the Ripple and a federal policy advisor to The Illinois Alliance to Prevent Gun Violence. In January 2023, Ashbey testified in front of the Illinois State Senate in support of the Protect Illinois Communities Act and was part of the grassroots effort that passed PICA into law making Illinois the 9th state to ban assault weapons.
