Since the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the region has been unstable. And the past decade has been a period of change and instability in the wider Middle East. But where does an emerging power like UAE fit into this? 

Ayham Kamel, head of Eurasia Group's Middle East and North Africa research team, spoke to Foreign Editor Arthur MacMillan to talk about the past decade of change in the Middle East for The National's 10@10 podcast.

Firoz Tarapore is the Chief Executive of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.

As chief of DEA, among the world's five biggest aircraft-leasing companies, Tarapore has seen firsthand how the aviation sector, and alongside it tourism, has evolved in the UAE over the past decade or so.

David East is the CEO of the Emirates Cricket Board. A former wicket-keeper for Essex, East has overseen rapid developments and helped maintain world-class infrastructure that has allowed the UAE to play host to events such as the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League.
