This week we're joined by Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician Lisiane Latouche to discuss what postnatal depression and anxiety is, and what some of the signs and symptoms are.
We know this can affect both women and men after the birth of their baby, and in some cases even during pregnancy. This is unfortunately a common condition which is why discussions like these are so important to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms, and how to best support someone with perinatal depression and anxiety.
Lisiane Latouche originally trained at The University of Sydney as a Social Worker and completed further post- graduate studies in Infant Mental Health at the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. Lisiane is a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, Trainer and Specialist Clinician with just over 30 years’ experience in the perinatal space.
Lisiane has a particular interest in attachment- based interventions and is currently contracted as a Sessional Clinical Supervisor in a leading Parent - Baby Unit in NSW and at Gidget House, North Sydney after a career of 30 years at Tresillian. Lisiane remains passionate about supporting families in the perinatal period and promotes the importance of early intervention.
