10HP Podcast

In this podcast we discuss Marvel Heroes, the free-to-play action-rpg by Gazillion set in the Marvel universe.

We added Scott LeMay to the mix this month, an avid Marvel fan, and a first-time contributor to the 10-hp podcast. The reviews of the game were mixed, but I think everyone generally agreed that the free-to-play elements needed ironing out.

Next month we are going indie with the recently released Unepic. Send us your questions and comments about this show, the upcoming game, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

Music in this podcast was recorded in-game from various levels.

In this podcast we discuss Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware's epic fantasy RPG of darkspawn and the Grey Wardens.

Glorious returns this month, and this is one of the few months where people have been unable to finish the game completely before coming in for a review. Still everyone had played many many hours of the game, both in the past month and in time before so there was much conversation to be had.

Next month we are going modern with the soon-to-be-released Action RPG Marvel Heroes. Send us your questions and comments about this show, the upcoming game, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

In this podcast we discuss Bioshock, a first-person shooter about a dilapidated utopia under the sea.

We don't have Simon or Glorious with us this month, and the remaining members don't count first-person shooters amongst their favorite genre, so it was a hard sell. Listen in to hear the critiques.

Next month we are going to play Dragon Age: Origin as nominated by Paul. Send us your questions and comments about this show, the upcoming game, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

In this episode we discuss Fallen Enchantress, the turn-based empire, rpg game that arose from the ashes of Elemental.

This game bears more consideration than our simple 10 hours would allow, and we all agreed on that point, but we still had gathered enough information to really get a feel and be able to critique the game strongly.

Next month we are going to play Bioshock (1) and time permitting, Bioshock 2 as nominated by Chris. Send us your questions and comments about this show, the upcoming game, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

In this episode we discuss The Walking Dead, Telltale's adventure game of zombie apocalypse.

This is a break from our norm as the game is pretty new, and not really action or strategy which are our typical tropes. But it garnered so much press, and we're mostly all fans of the TV show, that we decided it was worth checking out.

This month, in addition to our regular cast of Chris, Paul, Anthony, and Glorious, we've added Simon Bhavilai and Sherry Main.

Next month we are going to play Fallen Enchantress as nominated by Simon. Send us your questions and comments about this show, the upcoming game, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

Music in this podcast was recorded in-game from episode one, in the office, and from the ending of episode 5.

In this episode we discuss Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity. A 4X real-time-strategy game developed by a small team at Stardock and sort of a cult hit.

We're all fans of the 4X genre, though we're used to them being turn-based so this was a bit of a departure. In addition, at the end of the show after a short break we discuss the other games we've played this month, in a segment which is rapidly become regular where we just talk about whatever we feel like.

Next month we are going to play The Walking Dead as nominated by Paul. Send us your questions and comments, about this show, the upcoming game TWD, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].

Music in this podcast is taken from the title screen of Sins.

In this episode we discuss the indie game, Faster Than Light. It's easily Paul's favorite game at the moment, and while we hadn't all played it as much as him we definitely had some strong opinions on the topic.

This was a test podcast, so not all the 10-hp regulars are present and this wasn't an official "game of the month" selection. Instead we just discussed a game we had all played, and got the kinks of the system worked out for the first official broadcast that we will record next week. Then we will slip into a regular monthly schedule starting with the next game nominated.

Next week we will discuss Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity as nominated by Glorious. Send us your questions and comments, about this show, the upcoming game Sins, or anything else you feel needs your attention at [email protected] [1].
