This week, we talk about the Netflix film Accused (2023), in which a young man travels from London to the countryside and has the worst night of his life, when he is blamed for a terrorist attack on social media. We discuss what the film gets right about pile-ons, and the ways in which violence is presented across different social platforms, as well as some of the bizarre scenarios and characterisation choices that contribute to giving the protagonist the worst night of his life.
