#110 The ultimate Retreat Guideline

Listen Later

My field guide to transformational group work

I just came back from a powerful retreat in Mallorca, and my journal is bursting. Bursting with thoughts, emotions, patterns I’ve noticed — and memories of the last 20 years, showing up in group after group, workshop after workshop, searching for meaning, healing, and clarity. I’ve sat in yoga circles, agile certification bootcamps, tantra sessions, coaching intensives, and plant medicine ceremonies. And across all of them, there are a few things I wish someone had told me at the beginning.

This episode is that message — from me to you. If you’ve ever been curious about why retreats can be so life-shifting (and why they can also be super triggering), this is your field guide. I’m talking openly about what it means to be in a group, to get annoyed, to cry, to not want to participate. I’m also sharing why boundaries matter more than performance, and why the “real work” begins the moment you come home. This one’s from the heart — and I hope it lands with you if you’re thinking about stepping into a retreat space soon.

💡 Key insights in this episode:

  • The group is your mirror: What annoys or triggers you in others is often a hidden message from yourself.
  • Boundaries are a sacred part of the journey: You don’t have to say yes to everything. Saying no can be the deepest yes.
  • Integration is everything: The real impact of a retreat shows up in your daily life — often weeks or months later.
  • Why you (might) need a retreat: To reset. To remember yourself. To step out of routine and into the truth of who you are.
