As we begin a new teaching series through the Book of Acts, this episode explores how the church first came to life — and what that origin story means for us today. From discouraged disciples on the road to Emmaus, to Peter the failure, Thomas the doubter, and the fearful hiding behind locked doors, Jesus gathers ordinary, imperfect people and rekindles new hope, gives a new calling, and invites them into a new experience of the Holy Spirit.

This message challenges us not just to hear about God’s work but to show up and experience it — just like the 120 who waited in the upper room. The same Spirit who empowered the first believers still empowers ordinary people now.
