This week's episode is a much needed chat around the prevalence of eating disorders and disordered eating during pregnancy and postpartum. This season is such a vulnerable time for many, with hormonal fluctuations and body changes which can be the catalyst for some women to experience body image struggles.
In this chat we interview Callie and Catrina - friends, Social Workers and Mums. Callie and Catrina are the Founders of Lotus ED support and both have a lived experience of eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image struggles.
We discuss a whole range of topics including what an eating disorder or disordered eating is, the impacts of diet culture, societal pressures to "bounce back", and how our behaviours can impact our children and their relationship with their bodies from such a young age.
Lotus ED support is an organisation passionate about supporting those who are experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image struggles (as well as their carers and loved ones).
Callie and Catrina are incredibly passionate about fighting diet culture as individuals and parents - and love to support other parents in navigating diet culture and body image in the home.
