111 Luke Foley – Three Frog-Like Spirits

Listen Later

What do frogs have to do with the French Revolution and modern woke ideology?

In this episode, Luke Foley, author of Three Frog-Like Spirits – The Lord’s Warning to Our Generation, unpacks one of Revelation’s most intriguing images. Drawing on biblical parallels from Exodus, the story of Ahab, and Genesis, Luke makes the case that the three frog-like spirits of Revelation 16 symbolise France’s revolutionary principles of liberty, fraternity, and equality and that these same spirits are powerfully at work in the world today. A thought-provoking conversation for anyone seeking to understand the signs of the times and stand firm in their faith.

Luke lives in Coventry, United Kingdom and is a member of the Coventry (West) church or ecclesia.

The book jacket says:

Israel back in the land proves that we are close to the establishment of the Kingdom of God. The Lord gives a special warning to the generation alive at his coming – quite possibly our generation. Revelation is a difficult book to understand, but one verse is crystal clear – Revelation 16:15. In this place the Lord says that he is coming, and to some, his appearance will be as a thief, resulting in them being found naked and exposed. We must do everything we can to avoid being found wanting, so that when our Lord returns, we are ready to receive him with joy alongside our family and friends.

What, then, is the danger? What could cause us to lose our garments so close to the coming of our Lord? The context shows that it is the frog-like spirits that have gone out into all the world. To be welcomed into the Kingdom, we must combat the frogs with the sword of the spirit. The best way to do this is to first identify the enemy and be absolutely sure we can spot the frogs croaking in our lives. it is conviction that leads to action, and so this book has been written to aid us in identifying the last great enemy of our community so that we can unite to fight together. God’s word will accomplish the purpose for which it is sent, and so we can be confident there will be believers who, having correctly understood the symbol of the frogs, keep their garments. May our Lord return to find us earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints, that we might hear those beautiful words from his gracious lips: ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant … enter thou into the joy of thy Lord’.
