111 \\ The Blame Game \ Inaugural Sacred Stepmama Shortie! A Saturday Grace-Filled Initiative for Stepmoms

2023 marks year five that Bill and I are reading through the Bible together. Each year, we choose a different plan. I've learned so much diving into God's Word this way.
We've just read about The Fall in Genesis 3. Know what strikes me? The blame game. Eve: The devil made me do it. Adam: She made me do it.
My takeaways, shared on today's pilot of the pilot program I'm starting this week on the pod - Sacred Stepmama Shorties, are these:
š„1. What happens when we are accused? The flesh reacts quickly, deflecting responsibility by blaming someone else.
š„2. Satan is sneaky for sure when he asks, "Did God really say?" But...the thing is...it's the same strategy he whispers to us. "Those aren't really your kids." "It doesn't matter if you withdraw." "The kids don't need you." "You are not the right woman for the job."
š„3. Forgetting God. Did Eve check in with God? Did Eve consult the Word when she was listening to Satan? Did Eve consult her spiritual leader of the household, Adam? Did Adam consider God's teaching, his commandment to NOT eat from that tree? Do you hear the gonging clanging empty of the word NO to all of these questions?
š„4. Did you notice that Adam wasn't somewhere else in the garden, he was right next to Eve? "She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it." Anyone else wanting a knight in shining armor to step in and protect this woman?
š„5. Finally, consider the influence of a woman. Do you catch it? The woman gave to her husband. Her suggestion to partake and Adam's acceptance signifies Eve's influence.
As you consider how you want to show up for 2023, I invite you to spend time meditating on God's Word. On his anointing and his appointing of YOU as the influential woman of the family he has given to you.
