We'll discuss what macros are, what are some of the benefits and drawbacks of tracking macros for PCOS and how to know if it's right for you. This is a recording of a recent FB Live I did inside my free FB group PCOS INSIDERS.
Macros are a terms used to refer to macronutrients: carbohydrates, proteins and fats. These are the 3 nutrients that provide calories in our day and make up the total amount of energy consumed from different food groups.
While all 3 macros are important for PCOS since they provide essential nutrients for the body, their quality may vary greatly. This is one aspect of counting macros that is not helpful for PCOS since it doesn't address hormonal imbalances such as insulin resistance and the low grade chronic inflammation seen in PCOS.
