ResponseABLE Parenting

121. My strategy for a regulated holiday

Listen Later

In this episode I share how to approach the holidays from a nervous system perspective. When there is prediction there is less friction. So we are not leaving the days up to chance. We are creating focused blocks of time that engage our children in activities they like and want to do. We are prioritizing what they want to have happen and we are creating a little mystery with some special time blocks as well.

Additionally, with extended family, let's get them on board by creating a menu to choose from where they get their 1:1 time, but with things that are predictable and accepted.

And finally, the main key to making this all work is the regulation breaks that help us transition out of one activity into the next.

I hope this serves you very well this holiday and I can't wait to hear how you implement this strategy!
