Shame is powerful. And if shame is present with our kids, parents need to jump into action and heed the alarm. Why? Because when parents develop the ability to de-shame their house and de-shame dynamics in their kid, it allows them to intervene differently and actually start to make progress quickly. This week on the podcast, Dr. Becky teaches all parents a very important lesson: how to become shame detectors with their kids.

Sleep. Precious sleep. It's the rare commodity that all parents and kids need more of. And it's a cruel irony that at night, parents and kids have completely opposite needs. Kids want more connection. And parents just want some time to themselves. On today's episode, Dr. Becky tackles sleep struggles and gets to the root cause of what causes them. She also offers hope to tired parents everywhere.

This is a repeat of an earlier episode. When your kid comes home from school and declares "I'm the worst at math" or "everyone is better at gymnastics than me", you might think that you can teach them to believe in themselves with some words of encouragement. But confidence doesn't come from the outside. True confidence comes from feeling good enough inside. This week, Dr. Becky talks to a mom who is doing all the right things to teach her son to believe in himself but it just isn’t working.
