Too much and you'll lose the reader. Too little, well, that doesn't work either. We need the Goldilocks approach to descriptive writing. When done right descriptive language can build emotional resonance, develop character, create memorable settings, and elevate your writing in a way that has editors, readers, and publishers, clamoring for more.
