Yegor Savonin is the founding mastermind and guitar/synth player of the Connecticut-based Melodic Black metal group Fires In The Distance. Signed to Prosthetic Records, the band released their sophomore album, Air Not Meant For Us, in April and it has gained some critical acclaim, having popped up on multiple AOTY lists from many outlets, including my list.
