Despite having lived in the US for most of their adult lives, our parents continue to struggle with navigating a somewhat still-foreign society, while longing for the familiarity of their motherland societies. Despite not being fully integrated in the US, the fact of the matter is that they've built their lives here. Their immediate family - children and grandchildren - are here to stay.
