In this week's episode we're talking all things postnatal depletion with the amazing Shelley Mckenzie! Shelley is a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Mum. During our chat Shelley shares her own personal health and wellness journey with us, as well as her experience juggling work, life, health and nutrition with three young babies.
Shelley's journey began when she 24 years old and experienced a sudden health storm within her body. She was diagnosed with a condition called Hashimotos, an autoimmune disease. From here she made it her mission to learn about nutrition and how she could overcome and manage this diagnoses by using the ‘food is medicine’ principles. Shelley now pairs her degrees with her own personal health and motherhood experiences to help her clients live a happy, healthy and well balanced life.
In this episode we discuss what postnatal depletion is, signs to look out for that indicate you might be depleted postpartum, and some easy diet changes to hit some key nutrients after pregnancy.
