Spanning approximately 320 miles in length, the New River holds the distinction of being one of the oldest rivers in the United States.
An intriguing characteristic of the New River is its primarily south-to-north flow, a trait shared by only a few rivers worldwide, including the Nile. This unique feature adds to the river's allure and intrigue. Recognizing its significance, the New River was granted the status of a national river in 1978, thereby becoming part of the United States National Park Service. Further highlighting its importance, the river was also designated an American Heritage River in 1998.
 Captain Josh Laferty, a proud native of Roanoke, has been a guiding force in the region since the early 2000s. With his expertise as one of the original musky fly fishing guides in the area, Josh possesses a remarkable level of experience navigating our rivers. His profound understanding of the dynamics required for a successful pursuit of southern musky sets him apart as a seasoned guide.

Hailing from the charming town of Oak Hill in Southern West Virginia, Captain Austin Conrad's roots run deep in the region. Having spent a significant part of his life there, Austin has developed a profound connection with the outdoors. Over the past 15 years, he has dedicated himself to fishing and guiding enthusiasts in Virginia, leading them to discover the wonders of wild trout, smallmouth bass, and musky.
