If you want to reach a health goal all you need to do is follow the steps right? If it were that easy everyone would have no issues
Today I speak to Maija Tweeddale who is a Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach about the importance of tackling the underlying causes to effect long-term change
We talk about the difference between nutritional therapists and Health Coaches
That our habits didn't just happen yesterday so it can take time to break them
It's not linear but one "bad" day won't have you back at square one
There is no silver bullet or a magic pill and many things affect our body including your environment and negative thoughts
The importance of finding the joy and that we've lost touch with how we feel in our body
That the fact so much of our relaxation is spent doing something stimulating makes the regulation of highs and lows much harder
The problems comparing yourself cause, like do you actually want what you are comparing yourself to others
Maija also talked about her own career move from a career that would be considered something we all aim for but was actaully slowly dragging her down
We also chat about some of the extreme diets that we did and how the real key is balance
That so many issues can be solved with diet and exercise instead of medication
The importance of checking in with how you are doing cos we easily forget how far we've come
A reminder that we are all human and bad days are ok move on and remember that that is normal
Maija also has a really simple but amazing piece of advice at the end that I think we all need reminding from time to time
