In this episode of The Benchwarmers Podcast, Doug and James lead off the show talking about the XFL’s new BIG TIME Owner, they dive into some Texas Longhorns news and they discuss the opening of fall camps for 4A-1A Texas High School Football teams including some BREAKING NEWS involving a Coastal Bend high school football that broke prior to the recording! 

 

The guys are then joined by Host of the Two Shots Podcast, Joe Garcia to talk all things San Antonio Spurs and NBA. Joe goes into depth on the Spurs young core and how they are messing well with DeMar DeRozan and he gives his thoughts on how the Spurs finish in the Bubble, Joe also gives his NBA Finals prediction and reveals his GO TO Whataburger Meal. The second half of the show see’s Doug and James dive into the Spurs heartbreaking 132-130 loss to the Sixers on Monday night and they talk how they see things going for the Spurs for the remainder of the week. 

 

The Bench then dives into some MLB talk with an Astros/Rangers week that was round up, they discuss the absolute MESS that is the Marlins and Cardinals COVID-19 outbreaks including rumors of both teams being absolutely careless prior to testing positive. 

 

The guys end the show with some NFL news and notes as teams are preparing to enter Phase 2 of Training Camps and they go over some This Day in Sports History; August 4th, 1993 Nolan Ryan vs Robin Ventura.

Then Gregory-Portland Wildcat Football Head Coach Rick Rhoades takes a seat on The Bench to discuss the wackiness of the upcoming Texas High School Football season, his thoughts on  Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine prediction of his Wildcats and he gives The Bench the inside scoop on who the Wildcats Starting Quarterback will be for the 2020 season and more.  

 

The Bench then dives into the Marlins COVID-19 outbreak and what that means for Major League Baseball going forward, they give their MLB opening weekend observations as well as go around the diamond with the latest Astros/Rangers news nuggets. 

 

The Bench makes a fly by the NBA with some strip club food talk, they then hit the latest in the NFL news and notes with training camps officially opening this week.
